Every aspect of the school day and the weekend is planned to optimize learning for the boys. The school day is structured so that students alternate between academic classes and elective classes designed to stimulate their artistic interests while developing their creative talents. Although the class day appears long, its careful design ensures that students remain interested and attentive. Weekends are similarly planned so that activities are fun and designed to build community, cooperation, and respect. The guideline used for all planning—whether in the classroom or on a weekend—is “What are we doing?” and “Why are we doing this?” These are important questions to ask and answer when developing the optimal program for Greenwood students.
