Giving to Greenwood

Greenwood is excited to announce that the Ruth Lily Philanthropic Foundation has generously donated $250,000 to begin a Greenwood School Endowment Fund.

This leadership gift will ensure that Greenwood is viable for future generations of deserving students. Former Greenwood Board of Trustees Member and member of the Distribution Committee for the Ruth Lilly Philanthropic Foundation, George Lilly, and his wife Cheryl, who is a current Greenwood Board Member, met with the faculty and staff to announce this landmark gift. This was a powerful meeting and many of the Greenwood faculty and staff were wiping away tears of joy and appreciation as establishing an endowment has been a long-standing goal for The School for many years. Greenwood’s goal is to build the endowment to $1 million over the next five years. The Ruth Lilly Philanthropic Foundation’s generous gift has helped us take the fist step in reaching this milestone.

Thanks to the tremendous support and generosity of everyone in The Greenwood Family, we are wrapping up the most successful annual fund in Greenwood’s 29-year history. We have currently raised $165,000, which is 25% higher than last year’s annual fund and exceeds the goal of $155,000. As the annual fund does not officially close until June 30, there is still time to participate! Whether funding art supplies, costumes for the upcoming drama production, sports equipment, field trips, or a special dessert, every gift makes a significant difference in the lives of our boys. Furthermore, your generosity helps empower Greenwood to attract and retain the dedicated and talented faculty who make the boys’ growth possible.
