The Greenwood School Privacy Statement

Thank you for visiting the Greenwood School Web site. Your privacy is very important to us. Our policy is to collect no personal information about you when you visit our Web site unless you affirmatively choose to make such information available to us.

When you visit our Web site, our Web server automatically recognizes only the Internet domain and IP address from which you accessed our Web site. This information does not result in the identification of your personal e-mail address or other personal information.

Information Use
The Greenwood School is the sole owner of information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement.

The Greenwood School collects information at several different points on our Web site including,

Contact Us Form:
We request information from the user on our information Contact Form. The data requested by the Contact Form is used solely for recruitment and planning purposes; we will not place user information on any mailing list unless requested to do so. While we do not sell or give out any e-mail address or collected information, that information is available on our Web site for the convenience of the School’s headmaster and assistant headmaster (“School Administrators). An applicant may also choose to remit his information by direct mail to the attention of the School office addressed as follows:

Sign Up for the News
In order to provide news of School activities and general announcements, e-mail addresses are collected on our web site from users who voluntarily choose to subscribe. We do not publish a list of e-mail addresses. At any time the user can unsubscribe from the e-mail list by using the “Remove me from the news list” feature.

Access to the Parents Section
In order to use the Parents Section of the site, a user must first be assigned a personal identification number (PIN) by School Administrators. Information obtained via the PS section registration includes personal information such as e-mail addresses and the name of the current registered student associated with the parent for identification. Users are encouraged to protect the privacy of their PIN.

It is the sole discretion of the School Administrators to authorize access to this section. Access to and use of the information found within the PS section is for the personal convenience and use by those individuals authorized by such School Administrators only.

Access to the Alumni Section
In order to use the Alumni Section (TAD) of the site, a user must first be assigned a personal identification number (PIN) by School Administrators. User Name, Name and e-mail address are required fields. Users are encouraged to protect the privacy of their PIN.

Data collected is intended for use only by Greenwood School alumni, parents and School Administrators. Information collected also allows us to contact alumni about upcoming School events, and gatherings. We have also asked alumni, on occasion, to act as ambassadors for the School, to give testimony for our publications and Web site.

We periodically monitor the Alumni Forum for content, and will discontinue this privilege for any user who, in the sole discretion of The Greenwood School Administrators, violates what they feel is unethical computing conduct.

Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive containing information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. The cookie we use will stay on the user's hard drive. It is used solely for the purpose of tracking repeat visits to our site. If a user rejects the cookie, they may still use our site with no limitations.

Log Files/IP Addresses
We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track the user's movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

This Web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we at The Greenwood School are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site to read the privacy statements of each and every Web site that collects personally identifiable information. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
